In my grade eight year, the time I am looking forward to the most is the week I will be spending at Trillium Lakelands Arts Camp. The reason why I am so excited for this is because I had such a marvellous time last year. TLAC is a great place that helps you meet and interact with other students throughout the Trillium Lakelands School Board. Not only do you meet friends, you also have to go to class as you would any regular day at Beechgrove. But the teachers at TLAC are wonderful, and assure you have a great time. The cabins and food are tremendous, as well. The cooks are professional, so there is no doubt you will l0ve the food. The bread they make fresh daily, is too die for. Not every student gets the privilege to go to TLAC. You have to have a decent grade average, have an interest in the arts and generally be an excellent student. I try my best during the year, to insure that I will be able to attend this extracurricular activity. Over all, I had a great time at TLAC 2009 and can’t wait to go back for year two.
What I am worried about most at the moment, is how my life will turn out in the long run. I anticipate that I will succeed in life. My ambition is to make it through high school, and go on to Ryerson University to major in something I am deeply interested in. I would then like to continue on and get an incredible career, while living in a charming house with my family. But who can tell for sure, if that will actually happen to me. I guess I can only hope. I am extremely anxious to live my life, and I will try to achieve my goals while I’m at it.
One of my three Goals for this year is to, use my leadership quality’s to help as many students and staff as possible. Not only, does this make me feel good about myself to know that I am making a difference. But it also gains respect from my fellow classmates. An additional goal I have set for myself is to be a superior remodel to the younger students. I understand that they look up to us, just like we looked up to the older students when we were young. I will try and have a positive attitude towards school and smile as much as possible. My last goal for the year is to become more fit. This is not because I think I’m obese, but I would like to build up my endurance. This is important to me because of figure skating and other sports. I intend on trying out for the sports teams again this year, and I think that being more fit could really help me. But then again, now there are more overweight people in Canada than average-weight people. So overweight people are now average, which means most people have met their New Year's resolution. I hope, throughout the year I can achieve all my goals.
